About Donna Swansen / Design

Donna Maloney Swansen has been involved in landscape design since 1976, starting her own business in 1983. A founding member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), she served as its first president in 1991 and on its board of directors from 1989 to 1995. Donna also co-founded the Philadelphia-based Landscape Design Network, and helped initiate Plant Ambler, a community beautification program.

Donna's exhibits are regular favorites at the Philadelphia Horticultural Society, where she was named Best in Show in 1987, and the Fort Washington Exhibition Center, where she has participated on four occasions. Her 1987 exhibit at the Temple Flower Show - "Do It, Dig It" - was also a great hit.

A Green Bay native, Mrs. Swansen has Associates degrees in liberal arts from the University of Wisconsin, and in Landscape Design from Temple University. In 1996 she was recognized with an Athena Award, for distinguished service to her community.

Donna is mother of three and foster mother of one, and grandmother of ten.
